Baker’s Dozen Of Blues: May 30, 2016

Our top slot this week is once again, Janiva Magness and her ‘Love Wins Again’ release. Chock full of great songs, we tried to feature as many as we could. So, with another week we can give ya another song. Congrats on a feat accomplished by only a select few artists.

We have a hot shot debut – Terrie Odabi starts at #10 this week. You heard her on last weeks Fresh Bytes Amuse Bouche. Another that you heard, Markey Blue, was also well received and therefore debuts on the chart at #13, very exciting news for Women in the Blues.

As this weekend celebrates Memorial Day our Amuse Bouche features Blues artists who have gone to the other side in 2015/16. Not a complete listing but one we feel captures the wide range of music inside the Blues, and immense talent that we lost.

In the coming month of June we will have new and very exciting news to share with y’all. We have been hard at YA YAwork recruiting new DJs who can offer high level programming for us to enjoy. I know many have liked us on Facebook, but in order for us to succeed we ask that you actually listen to the station. This is the vital cog in the machinery to insure the on going carefully curated blues music that we and others affiliated with us do.

Starting this past Saturday at midnight we premiered Michael Kinsman and his Hoodoo Ya Ya radio program. If you have ever been to San Diego, The Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise or various other blues events on the west side of town then you know Michael. What you might not have known is that Michael has been a DJ on earth bound radio for many years.  Well he has joined forces with us and he will continue to bring some of them eccentric, sometimes quirky but all over good blues music to our audience.  Please Bawdy Blueswelcome him to Blues411 Internet Radio.

So stay tuned and know that our new offerings will be top of the line. With that in mind we have started our new Monthly Program for June a little early. Bawdy Blues, featuring all those songs your mama warned you about (or at least many of them). Since this is the beginning of summer and there ain’t nothing better than gettin’ sweaty, tune in. . . and put it all in there. Check our constantly updated schedule on  our page.
