The Blues Foundation has just released it’s 2017 Blues Music Award Finalists, click links to view, join and vote for those you believe deserve it then join all of us in May in Memphis for a damn sure wang dang doodle of a time.

Into the second week of January, and moving forward with good intentions and a positive outlook for the year. Speaking of positive steps, Mississippi Heat is sitting on top of the chart for this week, their Cab Driving Man release is one more superior collection of blues for us to enjoy into the new year and hope that y’all be digging it as much as we are here at Blues411.

Those bad boys of Rock & Roll, The Rolling Stones have released a new blues album called Blue & Lonesome. Now to some that might be an affront to Blues Music but I hope that they remember where the Stones took their name from, and that the majority of their early releases were blues covers as well as some of their own originals with a blues feel. So to that we are going to feature them in our Amuse Bouche this week. Some from their new release, some old stuff, some borrowed and all blues. Get into this collection of tunes, you gonna like it.

As we draw closer to the end of January we are looking at back to back insane trips. First up is the Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise, and right after that we got the International Blues Challenge. It is great that they are on different weeks as all of us travellin’ blues folks won’t have to choose, we can do both. Now lets keep it that way !

And looking just a little further down the road we see the Clearwater Sea-Blues Festival coming February 18 & 19. A great guitar centric line up for Sunday, while Saturday features some high level Florida talent.
Admission is free but there is VIP seating available if you wish to step it up a notch.
Hope you can join us there and look for some special programming that will feature the bands on our Blues411 Internet Radio station.
