THE LUCKY LOSERS AT THE TOP
AMUSE BOUCHE DAYTONA BLUES FEST II
TRIPLE R RADIO SUCCESSFULLY DEBUTS
ELTON JOHN, GUY DAVIS, MUSIC ABOUNDS
We here at Blues411 could not be happier for The Lucky Losers and their move into the #1 slot. This is their second release and it is refreshing, exciting and sure to earn a spot in your music collection, congrats to Cathy Lemon & Phil Berkowitz.
Two new additions this week, and I’m not sure that many of you have heard of them. We got Roland Johnson and Matty T. Wall. Even if you have not heard of them you will get to know them now through our Baker’s Dozen.
Our Amuse Bouche features artists who are playing at the Daytona Blues Festival. It’s a three day festival of blues, community and total goodness. Dates are October 7, 8, 9 in Daytona Beach Florida. A super line up with Friday being Woman In Blues Day. Blues411 is proud to be the MC for the event and we are so looking forward to the tribe coming together again. We will visit the line up for the third day and also the Riverfront Stage (plus the welcome and after party hosts music).
Triple R Radio debuted Saturday night and has been deemed a hit! Based out of the Netherlands our host, Ton a.k.a ‘T’ features a heavy dose of hot European blues and more.
We got wonderful comments from Europe and from the good old USA as to the content and style that he brings to our station – congrats and thanks for sharing your vision of music with us all.
When we first moved down here to SC, everyone said they loved the blues….I asked where could we find it, they said ahh that’s why you are here.
So we have started to spread the gospel of Blues Music to our part of SC, with the help of Street Music on Paris Avenue in Port Royal in their tenth year, and The Roasting Room in downtown Bluffton (in their first year).
Speaking of Guy Davis, yeah really, we got to see him two weeks straight and with two different configurations. Both shows were epic, once at the PA Blues Fest and once at Port Royal. Many of the folks were alerted to his appearance down here loved him and are thrilled that we can have that level of artistry available to us. Guy – thank you and the band for a great set.
While we were at the Pennsylvania Blues Festival, the Roasting Room had Albert Cummings, and this Friday they will feature Peter Karp. Soon we will enjoy Bruce Katz Band & Slam Allen.
If you are a touring artist and are headed this way get in touch with The Roasting Room and make it happen!
If that wasn’t enough music we got to see Elton John in Savannah. He was great, the cat knows how to entertain, and went for three hours non-stop. His was in excellent voice and the band kicked serious ass. Seats were best available.
So in honor of him we will spin an obscure track from his “Don’t Shoot Me I’m Only The Piano Player” release at the very end of our Amuse Bouche slot.
