A Baker’s Dozen of Blues: October 5, 2016

We survived the rain storm, high water marks, howling winds and other bad stuff, nicely tucked away ‘safe & warm’ in the crook of the coastal Carolina Coastal Empire.

To the North of us, Charleston got hammered and areas there are in distress, but we somehow managed to escape and real consequences of the storm.

We did miss tripping to Charleston to see Gracie Curran, and to Camden to see the Carolina Down Home Festival, thanks to Gary Erwin for another great show.

We have a returning #1 this week , Otis Taylor. The Father of Trance Blues really hit it out of the park with his ‘Hey Joe, Opus Red Meat ‘ release. Hope you enjoy his second week on the top of our chart as much as we do.

Our new addition is one of my favorite artists, Eugene ‘Hideaway’ Bridges. I first saw Eugene at the BMA’s in 2010 and I was knocked out loaded by his voice and songs. His latest release is sure to garner a BMA nomination for Best Album, so tune in and dig the sounds he is puttin’ down.

11407050_932616253467669_5891857185224796298_nThis week we are headed down to the Daytona Blues Festival. If you are in the area just a come on by and visit, it’s three days of music and good times round the clock. So our Amuse Bouche this week will be the artists playing the festival. So sit back and listen and then make a bee line to Daytona to join us – how can ya go wrong with Janiva Magness, Alexis P. Suter, Nikki Hill and Jarekus Singleton, Watermelon Slim, Victor Wainwright and many more. October 9, 10, 11.
