A Baker’s Dozen of Blues: October 12, 2015

BakersDozen15Recovering from an amazing weekend of blues music and friends at the Daytona Blue Festival. Every band/act/person/artist laid it down like their life depended on it and each and every one of them hit it out of the ball park. Thank you attendees, musicians, volunteers, and sponsors for another great festival and for having me be part of the framily.

Otis TaylorWe have a new record occurring this week , Otis Taylor, The Father of Trance Blues, has returned for a record setting third week at #1 on BDOB. ‘Hey Joe, Opus Red Meat’ is now forever ensconced in the Blues411 Hall of Fame. Congrats my friend, and thank you for sharing your music with us all.

Additions to the chart this week is three super releases. Springing right to #10 is Buddy Guy and his new release ‘Born To Play The Guitar’. Shemekia Copeland and Chris James/Patrick Rynn are also new to the chart and playlist. All told there has been some fantastic music in 2015 and I am proud to have been able to bring it to you every week.
