A Baker’s Dozen of Blues: March 16, 2015

Our place holder at the top this week is the Empire Roots Band. Featuring Bill Sims, Dave Keyes, Woody Mann and Brian Glassman. These fine musicians have put together a sterling collection of Reverend Gary Davis songs that will please the real deal blues lover in you.

New to the chart this week is Steve Earle & The Dukes and their ‘Terraplane’ release, yeah as you can tell by the title it’s about the blues. Be sure to give this one some ear-time.

leprecaunOur Amuse Bouche this week features artists who have (like all of us) have a wee-bit of the Irish in their surnames. After digging around on ancestry sites we found common surnames that are of Irish background and came up with some artists who fit the category. So enjoy or tribute to the Irish in the blues.
