A Baker’s Dozen Of Blues, June 22, 2015

PA Blues Festival 2015We are gearing up for the Summer Festival Season. This is such a great time of year, so many festivals to get to, so many bands to see,and so many friends to see again. Looking forward to seeing bunches of ya’s at the festivals we will be at. Be sure to check our Festival Partner Page to see our preferred festivals this festival season.

One cool fest that has been bringing it home for twenty-four years is the Pennsylvania Blues Fest. It has always striven to bring some of the very best traditional blues artists mixed with rising contemporary bands and artists that don’t normally make it East – so put it on your calendar, July 24, 25, 26th and we’ll see you there.

New to the BDOB this week is 2 time Pinetop Perkins Piano Player Award winner and fabulous cat, Victor Wainwright, and his band, the Wildroots. They just popped out a fresh and very tasty release called ‘Boom Town’ get your ears around this baby cos it’s gonna be big. Another exciting occurrence is the reappearance of the Ghost Town Blues Band. The GTBB is a former #1 here on the chart and has reappeared at the #4 slot this week, congrats to the guys.

But all rise and salute our #1 for the week, the one and only Doug MacLeod. There are not too many superlatives that we would use that would not fit this cat, Blues Music award Winner and more – a great songwriter and COOLBLUESwonderful cat. Congrats my friend and it does go “Exactly Like This”.

Our Amuse Bouche this week features Classic Blues. OK all you purists and painting within the lines folk sit down ya might even agree with these choices. They all ain’t old dead folk, they all ain’t men but they all is classic blues in our book. So hope ya enjoy.
