A Baker’s Dozen of Blues: July 13,2015

Well it was a lost week for the web site as there was an issue with IP addresses, and such. It was still up and reachable, but it was not available to be updated. So moving on . . .

We did take advantage of an opportunity to see an incredible lady Beth McKee this weekend at Randy Wood’s Old Time Pickin’ Parlor, in Bloomingdale, GA. SCR-squareBeth has just been added to the Chef Suggestions list with her new and exciting release ‘Sugarcane Revival’ I advise you to get your head around this one. Thank you Beth, Randy and all involved for a great time.

This week we offer up big congrats to Mark Telesca as his little engone that could release, Heavy Breathing, takes the top spot. So far this year it has been one of the most pleasant and surprising releases to come our way.

With that we welcome Johnny Riley to our chart. Johnny has been around the blues scene for many years, and hanging in our Chefs Suggestions list. Check his sound out – there’s a good chance you will dig it.

Our Amuse Bouche this week is all about Blues Time. So sit back and dig on some blues tunes that deal with time and hours. Surely gonna make ya smile and look at that old clock on the wall a little differently from now on.

A quick update on our Savannah Radio progress with WRUU-FM. We have registered as a Team Member to help savannahsoundings-53f502dea7d16raise some money for the station in order to get on-line and over the air waves. To that cause we are offering 10 CD’s to the first 10 folks to pledge $107.50 to the station (thru our link) and we will send ya some super CD’s from current blues artists, many you have heard on our show or read about in our pages.
https://www.crowdrise.com/SavannahSoundingsBuildIt/fundraiser/blues411 this is the link to our page
– you can also just donate to help the cause. There are not many (1) blues programs on in our area, we found this to be the perfect opportunity to help bring the blues to the folks of South Carolina, Georgia and the world (still) via the internet partner station.

Also with the funding met and our show on air, we hope to have artists in studio from the area, and travellin’ thru to other gigs. Lots of promise here and if ya can spare some cash or the radio frequency (107.50) pledge you can help the cause and get some seriously cool blues releases. We have lots of folks to thank for this – we will do that later. Until then stop by and lend a hand.
